Social Media Donor Campaign

Penn State Startup Week - Start-Me-Up Mini Challenge | March 2021

Startup Week at Penn State is an excellent opportunity for student innovators and self-starters to challenge their learning in a hands-on way.

During Startup Week 2021, I participated in the Start.Me.Up Mini Challenge — a one-week "freelance gig" working with real companies on real projects. I competed against other students to deliver a themed donor campaign for a local organization, the Penn State Student Farm.

I sought to utilize Instagram and Facebook in a thoughtful and strategic way, touching and informing potential donors with an end goal of fundraising $350K-$1.5M for the Student Farm.

I created a cohesive vision, slogan, brand kit, and timeline for the donor campaign; audience research and strategies were also included to ensure the campaign would reach specific audiences with impactful messages.

Along with a plan, I also designed social media mock-ups for Instagram and Facebook — each post included a call to action, as well as an accompanying explanation.

For example, the image to the left had the following explanation: "Graphic geared towards alumni and parents of students who are concerned about education and facilities. Includes a technical map as well as pictures of current students and facilities."

I have previously been involved in marketing and social media teams for various clubs and organizations, including the Google Developer Student Club, Innoblue, and Epic Movement. I created graphics, designed logos, edited short-form videos, and curated a cohesive online presence for each of the clubs.
